Meet the Team

Or as we like to call it, ‘The Colony’

Let’s work together to help the ocean

Coral reefs are built by hard-working coral polyps, each doing their part to create a vibrant inter-connected ecosystem.
Just like a coral reef, we have a dedicated team who are helping to make Sea Fans thrive.
Meet the polyps in our colony:

I’m a passionate marine conservationist, a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Coral Reef Survey Instructor. I combine a life of world-wide adventuring and volunteering with a career as a project co-ordinator based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
I’m addicted to diving and sharing my underwater love of marine wildlife with as many people as I can.

Amy Hornett

I’m a PADI scuba diving instructor, with a background in copywriting and communications. I’ve been a fan of the sea since I was little girl and it’s this love for the ocean that driven me to do something to help. Sea Fans feels like the culmination of everything I’ve ever done and I’m extremely proud of everything Sea Fans has achieved so far.

I’m a Marine Biologist from the UK. I have worked for a number of marine organisations in educational, surveying, and lab based roles, and studied Marine Biology at Bangor University. I love everything to do with the sea, but getting up close and personal with marine life is what I like the most. Seeing cuttlefish underwater never fails to mesmerise me!

I’m currently studying Biology & Marine Biology at the University of Southampton UK. It’s impossible to pinpoint when I fell in love with the ocean, however, I started my journey into marine biology 5 years ago with my first scuba dive. Since then I’ve dedicated my efforts towards exploring research efforts through various volunteering and internship roles.
