Watch Sharkwater – International award-winning documentary about the importance of sharks to the ocean.

Alliance Films & Sharkwater Productions

The Truth will Surface – an inspirational documentary focusing on how important sharks are to the ocean.

About: For filmmaker Rob Stewart, exploring sharks began as an underwater adventure. What it turned into was a beautiful and dangerous life journey into the balance of life on earth.

Watch Sharkwater today and journey into some of the most shark-rich waters in the world. The film exposes the exploitation and corruption surrounding the world’s shark populations in the marine reserves of Cocos Island, Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

In an effort to protect sharks, Stewart teams up with Sea Shepherd founder Paul Watson. The adventure begins with a battle between Sea Shepherd and a group of shark poachers in Guatemala. This results in gunboat chases, mafia espionage, corrupt court systems and attempted murder charges, forcing them to flee for their lives.

Through it all, Stewart discovers these magnificent creatures have gone from predator to prey. He debunks the stereotype of sharks as bloodthirsty, man-eating monsters. Instead Sharkwater shows us  the vital role sharks played in the evolution of the seas.

However, despite surviving the Earth’s history of mass extinctions, sharks could easily be wiped out within a few years.
