Surfboard fins and frisbees made from recycled waste from Indonesia.

Five Oceans

Who: Five Oceans

Where: Byron Bay, Australia

About: The founders of Five Oceans are surfers who, as well as chasing waves, encountered heavy plastic pollution. They decided to create something useful from it and inspire surfers around the world. They designed a sustainable surfboard fin made with recycled waste from Indonesia.

Approximately 100 bottle caps go into one set of ecoFins. Rubbish is collected and sorted and sent to the recycling facilities in Java, where the bottle tops are recycled into pellets. The pellets are then sent to Australia to be refined and moulded. The ecoFin is a super light all-rounder with great strength and flex for surfers of all levels, for small to medium height waves and varied board types.
